hi all little boy boy and girl girl,

school has started and it just doesn't feel right not having all of you here with me.
missing all the idiotic actions and the things you all did.
but i hope all of you are doing fine in school.
the feeling is just so weird, with all of you coming to school in your new uniforms, but
just as well, at least now, we can be clear cut friends and not teachers and students.
hope all of you don't mind such an 'old' friend. though not that old actually.

2010 will be a special year to me, i will be making important changes to my life this year and i am looking forward to it.

2010 also marks the year where all of you start you new life in sec school.

no more nagging by me, hahah, no more "Where is your homework?"

but i really hope that 2010 does not mark the end of our love hate relationship,haha.

well even though its been a month after i returned from japan, i like to share my experience to 6C '09.....well here its goes.....


1) I know you can enjoy Mount Fuji at June like Mr Tan did but in Dec,u barely see anything because of.......fog...... i was really expecting because of hellish weather and bad luck.

2) Sushi there is nice but not cheap. K sushi sells salmon sushi for $1,but in japan,180 yen.......$2 , well, japan sushi is thicker, longer and ........better than Singapore.

3) All Unagi Kabayaki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kabayaki) are killed in front of customers, I IDK why but i tried and its very nice.

4).................nervermind about (4) but this is all i can share for now

i'm back!

After being away for 6 solid days in the land of the rising sun, i feel much better and recharged.

These 6 days have been good, why? read on....

1. got to see mount fuji clearly (went japan before but that was during winter and the view wasn't very clear)
2. did a lot of shopping, wow crazy sales over there (bought shoes, tees, pants, jeans, coat, contemplating to get my porter bag)
3. experienced ryoken (in case you don't know what that is, this is the traditional japanese lifestyle where u get to sleep on tatami mats) and most importantly experience onsen(hot spring bath)
4. loved the ramen and the sashimi
5. loved the dons(lunch boxes)
6. and of course the attitude showed by the people there. they were so courteous and we should really look at ourselves. the service staff over there are always so cheery, polite and helpful. it doesn't matter if you are just window shopping, they will always service you with a smile. this attitude, we must learn.
7. loved mickey. what is a trip to japan without visiting disneyland. since i went disneyland 2 years ago, decided to go disneysea this time round. well disneysea was not as good as disneyland but the characters were so differently dressed. imaging 'pirate' mickey. haha and not forgetting the finale which was the fireworks. one word to describe it-beautiful

now that is all the past, i must work hard now and push for the ultimate prize. a place in the express stream for every 6cian. Gambate everyone :)

The word 'composition' may mean different things in different circumstances. It could be a personal narrative, a short work of fiction or prose, an essay, a dramatic work or a poem. Each of these works has its own set of rules. This site has articles describing the how-to process of several types of composition: poetry, the essay, and others. This article will give you a general overview of the composition.

Know your purpose: What type of composition is this going to be? Make sure you understand the expectations. Typically, your teacher will provide you with an explanation and lecture on what you are to write. Read this over carefully. Ask your instructor if you have questions. You will find several helpful links at the end of this article for online resources also.

Choose your topic: Decide what you will write about. Here are suggestions based on different types of compositions.
Essay: Practically every essay topic can be approached from multiple perspectives. Choose a topic and take a stance; your essay will seek to convince readers of the legitimacy of your stance. Choose something that is important to you. It is easier to write about what you believe in. Write this in 'first person' -- 'I' (like you are talking) to 'second person'-- 'you' (a person you are speaking to).

Personal narrative: Personal narrative is a story about you. Choose something that made an impression on you, negative or positive. It might be a vacation, a funny experience, a crisis, a death, a dangerous or frightening situation you encountered, etc. Write in first person.
Play: Write about what you know. Your play could develop from a personal narrative. But regardless, include things you have some knowledge that is grounded either in personal experience or research, or both. The play is written in dialog with the speaker indicated. Stage directions - defining the elements of set and telling characters how to speak lines or move on stage - are written italicized and in parentheses.

Short story: This is a form of prose fiction, a creative non-poetic kind of composition. Write this in third person (as if you were a narrator) or first person if you speak as your main character. If first person voice is your choice, then your short story will read much like a narrative, but it is not necessarily something that happened to you. You can base it upon something you have experienced, but you tell it as a general story. Your options are unlimited; you could write about anything that exists in reality, or make up your own world for a short story.
Poetry: Poetry is focused on sound, syllabication, rhythm patterns and descriptive language. It might be free verse, or instead written in one of many rigid poetic form like sonnets or Haiku (very short Japanese poems).

Write your introduction: For every composition except poetry, you will need to introduce either your topic and position (for an essay) or characters, plot and setting (for narrative, short story and play). See the article 'How to Write an Introduction.'
Develop the 'body' of your work:
Essay

Brainstorm a list of 10 points you want to make about your topic. Jot down ten details or ideas that will support the point you are making. These may be facts, examples, data, statistics, quotes from a source, or just common sense ideas.

Group the 10 points into three groups. Organize your list of details into three categories based upon similarity. Like the bicycle, these will be the supporting 'spokes' of your topic.

Narrative, short story and play: Weave these details into your composition.

Plot: What happens in the story is basically the plot. Plots follow this sequence:
Situation: This is what's happening as the story opens.
Details of problem: Every story centers around a main problem, in literature called a 'conflict.'

There are 5 basic conflict scenarios:
man vs. man
man vs. society
man vs. himself
man vs. nature
man vs. God or the supernatural

Climax: All details lead up to one confrontation, center of action, or ultimate action.
Denouement: This is the 'aftermath,' the tying up of loose ends, the explanation.
Poetry: Follow the rubric for the poetry type you need to write.
Write your conclusion (for all but poetry): This simply wraps up what you have said in your composition. It can basically restate what you said in your introduction. If you composition is longer, you can sum up your main points. Try to phrase them a little differently so it will not sound repetitive.

Use P-O-W-E-R: You have done the
P-plan,
O-organize
W-write components;
E-edit
R-revise.

You will do this for every type of writing. Reread your work. Look for spelling, grammar, and content problems. Use your computer spell and grammar check but use your own wisdom also. You can have someone proof-read it also.

Every good piece of writing goes through two or more revisions. Let your thoughts 'gel.' Come back to the composition and you will see improvements you might not have seen when it was still 'hot.' A composition is like a piece of pottery: first it's plastic, then its greenware, then it's bisque and finally glazeware!

Rewrite your final copy. If you type your composition, be sure to save a copy for future reference. And who knows, you may submit it and find you have great potential!
Never underestimate your writing skills. Writing is 'art in words.' I always tell my students that everyone has a composition - or many - locked within. Everyone around you has a story to tell. All you need is to practice the skills to write your composition.

starbucks latte one of the best in the world,

so tempted to buy their water bottles but i don't even use it in the first place. haha

the best part is, i have 2 starbucks water bottles and yet none of them are used. haha

talk about being wasteful....

i think the coffee culture is really hitting the singapore shores

primary school kids like you and me (heheheh) are all studying here with their parents.

but oh well doesn't matter where you study as long you study and it goes into your brain and most importantly you are able to apply :)
thank god its friday..

i need to catch up on some badly missed sleep... :(

tampines 1 is opened, need to do some shopping hehe what great excuse...

really need some starbucks, will get it tomorrow morning

In this big big world,
there is this small small class.
and in this small small class,
there is this group of people with big big hearts.

This week has been a roller coaster ride for the class
but personally it has still been an enjoyable week
except for a few hiccups here and there,
I thought all of the 6c'ians deserve a big big clap

Why did i start this blog? You may want to ask.
perhaps its because i treat everyone in this class as a family.
Its a place where we share sorrows and a place where we learn and know each other and yourself.
But most importantly, it a place where we can communicate outside school.
where we keep each other updated even after this year.

ps. seriously i cannot imagine the day where all of us part. :(
